“NOA an Agency that should be an integral part of the Local Government”. The role of NOA in sensitizing the people cannot be over-empahsised because education and information is continuum. The above statement was made by the Executive Chairman of Bariga Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State, Hon. (Barrister) Kolade David Alabi on Tuesday 16th January, 2018  when the management team of National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lagos State, led by the Director, Mr. Waheed Ishola paid a working visit to the Council to drive for active grass-root participation and intimate the Executive Chairman on the activities of the agency and seek ways to work harmoniously together for the benefit of the citizenry.

The Executive Chairman, Hon. (Barrister) Kolade David Alabi, thanked the management team for finding time to visit the Council Area because it has long being expected. He noted that the issue of Value Re-orientation of the mind and character of persons is most needed by his administration and National Orientation Agency is best suited for the task.  He reiterated his administration’s commitment to support the National Orientation Agency (NOA), towards carrying out its programmes and activities in the Local Council Area. The Chairman said the local government is concerned with giving the people a sense of inclusion in governance, so that they would have a sense of ownership of government policies.

Earlier, the NOA State Director, Mr. Waheed Ishola, commended the management of the Local Government for the peaceful election and work done so far within 100 days in office – a sign of dedicated leadership. He stressed NOA’s preparedness to assist the Council in propagating its programmes and activites in the grassroot area. Noting that NOA’s primary duty is citizen’s engagement.

High point of the visit was the presentation of education materials and NOA newsletters to the Executive Chairman. In attendance were the Council Administrator, Mrs. Toyin Shoniake; Council Secretary, Bukola Adedeji, Council Legislators/ other top Local government functionaries.
