Disturbed by underlying medical issues prevalent in older citizens which make them vulnerable to #COVID19 induced complications, the NOA and Coalition of Societies for the Right of Older Persons in Nigeria (COSROPIN) launched Face Masks for the elderly. The initiative is meant to protect older persons from #COVID19 infections and to increase awareness among this category of #Nigerians on the risk of novel #coronavirus.
The Agency has been in partnership with many organizations with a view to promoting #COVID19 preventive measures across the country.
Rep of the DG NOA, the Director, Public Enlightenment & Mass Mobilization (PEMM) , Mrs. Ruth Ogun commended the COSROPIN for the laudable initiative to protect older population who are vulnerable.
President of COSROPIN, Sen. Eze Ajoku thanked the Agency for the partnership while commending NOA for its role in sensitizing the public on #COVID19. He said his organization plans to distribute the face masks specifically made for older people across the country.
The event was climaxed with the unveiling/launching of Face Masks for the older people and signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the organizations which will accommodate aggressive distribution of these face masks at the state and LGA levels.
The Agency is open to cooperation and partnership to ensure we collectively keep the #COVID19 pandemic at bay.
Everyone has a duty especially this time that the country is experiencing community transmission of the virus.
