The Director-General, National Orientation Agency (NOA) Dr. Garba Abari has noted with dismay, the continuous violent activities of the Niger Delta Avengers and the resultant damage to critical national assets which is presently impacting negatively on national revenues and has called on the militants to embrace dialogue.
In his words “Violence and destruction of national assets have never solved any problem, world-wide! Dialogue and peaceful negotiation has and will always remain the most effective way to resolve the present challenges”.
The Director-General, also calls on National Orientation Agency State Directors in the affected Niger Delta States to step-up community engagement dialogue with critical opinion moulders towards peaceful public enlightenment and sensitization on the negative consequences of the violent activities of the militants. He encourages communities in the Niger Delta to take note of the clean-up efforts in Ogoni in line with the UNEP report and appeals that Mr. President should be given cooperation to execute his laudable plans for the people of the Niger Delta and the larger Nigerian public.
