Information, sensitization and education of the people is continuum, to this end, the management team of National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lagos Directorate, led by the Director, Mr. Waheed Ishola , on Monday the 21st of May, 2018 paid an advocacy/sensitization visit to Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area (LCDA) to brief the chief executives on the workings of NOA in the grass-roots.

Addressing the management staff of the council, the NOA Director noted that the visit was primarily to get the buying of the Executive Chairman on how to massively sensitise the people for full and active participation in the on-going continuous voter’s registration exercise and collection of Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs) thereafter. He cautioned that without the PVCs, it will be difficult for anyone to participate in the forthcoming 2019 General Elections. He used the occasion to inform that distribution of PVCs for all Nigerians who registered in 2017 and those who applied for transfers/replacements of lost or damaged PVCs started on Monday, 21st May, 2018 between the hours of 9am – 3pm, Monday to Friday.

Furthermore, the Director called on the Executive Chairman and his management staff to partner with the Agency on a number of programmes such as: “Good Governance” for the three arms of government; “Preservation and Protection of Critical National Assets and infractstrutures” within the Council area with the largest population. He further promised to assist the local government in propagating its programmes and activities at the grassroots.

In his response, the representative of the Executive Chairman, Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Head of Administration, Mr. Olalere Olanrenwaju thanked the NOA management team for the visit. He noted that the visit was very purposeful, timely in terms of educative, informative and analytical. He promised to brief the Chairman on the various request and assured of a continued support to NOA’s programmes.  In conclusion, he informed the team of the administration’s achievements: Construction of 180 street roads, another 2 roads with drainage, street lights completed and awaiting commissioning by the Executive Governor.
