With respect to the massive infrastructural development and critical national assets located in Epe Local Government Area, the need for a joint collaboration on a number of programmes to effectively sensitize the people on Preservation, protection and taking ownership of such assets prompted the Management Team of National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lagos State Directorate to pay an advocacy visit to the Executive Chairman of Epe Local Government, Hon. Adedoyin  Adesanya on Monday, the 11th  of June, 2018. The team was led by the Director, Mr. Waheed Ishola; Deputy Director, Programmes, Mr. Rapheal Bowoto Deputy Director, Human Resources, Mrs. Aderonke Jacobs; Assistant Director, Planning, Research and Strategy, Mrs. Tomi Jaiyeoba and Assistant Director in charge of the Local Government, Mr. Olufemi Dairo.

Addressing the executive management and principal officers of the Council, the NOA Director commended the level of work in the area –  good road network with street lights, water borehole stations etc , he tasked them on preservation, protection and on the need to taking ownership of such assets and other national critical assets and infrastructures within the Council Area. He urged them to see the on-going Continuous Voter’s Registration Exercise and the collection of PVCs as the only means any qualified individual can participate in the forthcoming 2019 General Elections. The Director noted that NOA’s primary duty is citizen’s engagement, to this end, he requested for collaboration and partnership on a number of programmes to sensitize and educate the people on the right values.

Finally, the director thanked the chairman and the management staff for the warm reception and stressed the Agency’s preparedness to assist the Council in propagating its programmes and activities in the grass-root areas.

Welcoming the NOA management team, the Chairman who was in council with his executives, thanked the team for the visit. He commended the goodwill the Agency’s staff brought to the council and the working relationship enjoyed. He noted that a lot has equally been done, in encouraging the people to register and collect their PVCs. The Chairman thereafter, requested for the Agency’s assistance on how to curb or reduce street begging by youths in the area. A menace of some sort. He promised to collaborate, synergise and support the Agency on the requested programmes.
