In continuation of its advocacy visit to the 20 Local Government Areas and 37 Local Council Development Areas of Lagos State, on the issue of preservation, protection and taking ownership of critical national assets and infrastructures within the State and communities; the management team of National Orientation Agency, Lagos Directorate, led by the Director, Mr. Waheed Ishola, on Wednesday 20th June, 2018  paid a working visit to Hon. (Princess) Olabisi Adebayo, the Executive Chairman of  Mosan-Okunola Local Council Development Area.

Addressing the executive chairman and principal officers of the Council, the Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), commended the quality of work done in the Council Area in which the State Governor, recently commissioned. He tasked them on preservation, protection and on the need to taking ownership of such assets and other national critical assets and infrastructures within the Council Area. “People should no longer see such Assets as Government property but rather, as their own assets”.

On the on-going Continuous Voter’s Registration Exercise and the collection of PVCs, the Director noted that it is the only means any qualified individual can participate in the forthcoming 2019 General Elections, hence the massive sensitization and mobilization of the people. As the Agency’s primary duty is citizen’s engagement, the Director requested for collaboration and partnership on a number of programmes to sensitize and educate the people on the right values.

Finally, the director thanked the chairman and the management staff for the warm reception accorded his team and stressed the Agency’s preparedness to assist the Council in propagating its programmes and activities in the grass-root areas.

Welcoming the management team of NOA, the Chairman, Hon. (Princess) Olabisi Adebayo commended NOA’s initiative in bringing governance to the people. She thanked the team for finding time to visit and noted that a lot has equally been done, in encouraging the people to register and collect their PVCs. Furthermore, she observed that with the structure on ground she had achieved much in Primary Health Care, Education, Youth empowerment etc. The Chairman thereafter promised to partner and support the Agency on the requested programmes.
