Governor Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar says his administration is doing everything possible to ensure drugs abuse is control in the society. 
The Governor disclosed this at a Public Enlightenment/launching of a Book titled “wipping out the menace of drugs abuse among youth” and its translation into Hausa & Fulfulde languages/ Audio CD Clip, organised by his wife Hajiya Hadiza M A Abubakar in collaboration with the National Orientation Agency (NOA) Bauchi State Directorate, held at Multipurpose indoor Sports Hall Bauchi. 
The governor, represented by the Commissioner for Youth and Sports Pharmacist Ibrahim Madaki Sale charged parents to give their children sound and qualitative education in order to discourage them from engaging in social vices. 
According to him, considering that Youths are the future leaders in the society, there is the need for collective efforts towards salvaging their future. 
Governor Abubakar who expressed concern over the involvement of under age children and housewives in drugs abuse, assured his administrations determination to support the State Directorate of the National Orientation Agency in its enlightenment campaign drive to create awareness on the effect of drug and other substance abuse on the community, economy and the youth, to ensure free drugs abuse in the state.
In her address, the mother of the Day Her Excellency Hajiya Hadiza M A Abubakar expressed her dismay over the increases in the consumption of hard drug and other illicit substance among youth and women in Northern Nigeria, it has become necessary that people should be enlighten on the danger associated with the habit hence her collective decision to be very active at the public enlightenment/ launching of this very important book” wiping out the menace of drug abuse among youth “.
In a remark, the State Director National Orientation Agency Alhaji Nuru Yusuf Kobi called on all and sundry to join hands with the government in curbing the menace of drugs abuse in the society.
The NOA Boss remarked that the empowerment programe initiated by the Governor’s wife under her NGO B-SWEEP had assisted in curtailing the menace of drug abuses and addiction in the state.
Alhaji Nuru Kobi therefore used the forum to commend the state Governor Muhammad Abdullahi Abubakar for his administration’s commitment towards ensuring that the state remain peaceful.
