As part of efforts at celebrating the 2017 Children’s day in Nigeria, the Nigeria Gallery of Arts Ilorin organized a ‘Children in Art funfair and Talent hunt programme with the theme “ Change begins With me: The Nigerian child, An Ambassador of Change’ for primary and secondary school children in Kwara State.

The programme, which featured Art Exhibition, Quiz competition and Cultural display had the Acting State Director, National Orientation Agency, Kwara State Mr Olusegun Adeyemi as the Guest Speaker of the day. In his paper presentation on the theme of the day, the NOA Director congratulated children, parents and guardians on the occasion of the celebration of 2017 Children’s day and explained how and why children are very important in moving Nigeria forward. He also charged them to become participants and agents of change in the area of security, health, technological development, community development and patriotism. He concluded by charging them to  build a reputation of integrity and think of what they can do for Nigeria at all times to take the country higher.
Dignitares at the event included the Host, Mr Abiodun Adeyeye (Curator and Head of Station, National Gallery of Arts, Ilorin), Dr Mrs Aishat Abdul(Kwara State Coordinator of UBE) who was also the mother of the day, Mrs Folasade Omoboriowo, Head of Centre, Federal Ministry of Information Kwara State, Mr Babatunde Olokunlade Ministry of Defence. Others were Mr Ayilara T.O Society of Nigeria Artists and representatives of NDLEA,National Copyright Commission and schools.

There were good will messages from dignatries and various displays by the  schools present as well as a quiz completion between St Anthony Secondary school, Ilorin and Queen’s College Ilorin and St Anthony carried the day.
