NOA, Tomruk IHub Multiverse and Dafuda organize Capacity Building training for MDAs, Para Military Officers.

The National Orientation Agency is partnering with Fact Checking platform, Dafuda to combat fake news and misinformation by organising three day course for select Ministry, Departments and Agencies (MDAs), para military officers.

Fake news is believed to be responsible for array of security challenges, misconceptions in our society and has also been blamed for misleading citizens on topical issues of national concern.

COVID-19 pandemic has had a great deal of share as distorted and misleading information continue to affect perspectives about the virus as well as awareness campaigns being undertaken by the NOA. Often times, the NOA has to develop counter narratives around the COVID-19 and the safety of the vaccines to stop the spread of the virus.

Misinformation and disinformation have played great role in amplifying security challenges concerning farmers/herders, inter community and ethno-religious clashes.

The NOA has sought partnership with relevant bodies and organisations such as Dubawa, Dafuda, Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD), Tomruk and others to ensure we deal with menace of fake news in Nigeria.
