
The Director-General of National Orientation Agency (NOA), Dr. Garba Abari paid a royal homage to Emir of Ilorin, HRH Alh. (Dr.) Ibrahim Sulu Gambari ahead of Agriculture Research Mechanised Training Institute (ARMTI) Annual Conference scheduled to hold tomorrow.
Abari is a resource person who will be delivering a paper at the Annual Conference. He thanked the Emir of Ilorin for receiving him at his palace despite short notice. He praised the Emir for presiding over a peaceful city of Ilorin which has earned the city “harmony” status.
He also urged the Emir of Ilorin to continue to be nation’s heritage custodian as NOA believes all traditional leaders across the country are strategically placed to remain custodians of nation’s cherished cultures, heritage and values.
Alh. Sulu Gambari commended the DG NOA and the Agency at large for doing a great job of uniting different ethnic nationalities, adding that the nation needs services of the Agency to realise sustained peace. He urged people of Kwara to continue their harmonious co-existence that has characterised the community over time.
The traditional ruler also appealed to youths to embrace farming as white collar jobs are almost non-existent, saying he is equally a farmer with interest in both crop production and animal husbandry.
