As part of its sensitization programme to the Local Council Development Areas of Lagos State, on the need to participate in the on-going Voters’ Registration Exercise; Collection of Permanent Voters’ Cards and Protection, Preservation and taking ownership of National Critical Assets within their environment. The management team of National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lagos Directorate on Wednesday the 13th of June, 2018 paid a courtesy visit to the Executive Chairman of Imota Local Council Development Area of Lagos State.

Addressing the executive chairman and principal officers of the Council, the Director, National Orientation Agency, Mr. Waheed Ishola without prejudice, commended the executives on the massive result oriented Anti-cultism activities within the Local Government Area.

He urged other Councils in the State to borrow a leaf from Imota template.  X-raying the unprecedented State investment and infrastructural development in the area, the Director tasked them to preserve, protect and take ownership of such assets and other national critical infrastructures within the Area because it’s all for the benefit of the people.

On the on-going Continuous Voter’s Registration Exercise and the collection of PVCs, the NOA Director remarked that the PVCs is the only means any qualified individual can participate in the forthcoming 2019 General Elections, hence, it is a must for all to participate in the exercise. He noted that NOA’s primary duty is citizen’s engagement, to this end, he requested for a joint partnership on a number of programmes such as:”Change begins with me: Preservation and Protection of National Critical Assets and Infracturtures; Programme on Good Governance for the Three Arms of Government; Security Sensitization Campaign on Drugs and Cultism, these are to sensitize and educate the people on the right values.

Finally, the director thanked the chairman and the management staff for the warm reception and stressed the Agency’s preparedness to assist the Council in propagating its programmes and activities in the grass-root areas.

Earlier in his welcome address, the Executive Chairman,Imota Local Council Development Area, Hon.(Prince) Wasiu Agoro thanked the management team of NOA for finding time to visit the Council. He noted that the visit and discussions had motivated and challenged his administration to do more. Hon. Agoro commended the goodwill the Agency’s staff brought to the council and the working relationship enjoyed. He noted that registration and collection of PVCs had been handled seriously.  As life is a learning process, the Chairman promised to collaborate, synergise and support the Agency on the requested programmes.
