The National Orientation Agency (NOA) has called on Nigerians to use the nation’s 59th Independence Day Anniversary to renew their faith in the nation and the enormous promise she holds for its people.

The NOA Director General, Dr. Garba Abari who made this call in a message of felicitation to Nigerians on Nigeria’s 59th Independence Anniversary, further charged Nigerians to take ownership of the Independence Day Celebration through bold display of the national symbols.

He said nobody should celebrate the nation’s independence better than the individual Nigerian citizens themselves urging all Nigerians, both at home and in the Diaspora, to seek ways of contributing positively to national development.

“It is our duty as a people to show our independence by building our nation and not to depend on others for assistance”, Abari said.

The NOA boss also called on Nigerians across religious groups to use the opportunity of the Independence Day celebrations to offer prayers for the nation and her armed forces in the war against insecurity and for the speedy success of the war on corruption and economic challenges by the administration of President Mohammadu Buhari.
