With the growing population of Lagos State and its status as a commercial nerve center of Nigeria, the protection of life and property, is usually a herculean task for security agents.

To this end, the WAI Brigade Lagos State had a one day training induction course for all the officers and men of the brigade at the State Headquarters of National Orientation Agency (NOA), Ikeja, Lagos State on Saturday 20th May, 2017.

Giving the keynote address, the Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lagos State, Mr. Waheed Ishola noted that the Brigade and State Command was being reorganized and repositioned for efficiency and effectiveness.

To actively drive the Command, he urged the officers and men to be disciplined and show loyalty to the organization with a warning to the officers and men to avoid internal bickering and squabbles  amongst themselves.

The Director condemmed in totality the unregulated and embarrassing posts and comments from some men of the command on social media. He tasked the officers to monitor and regulate whatever goes into the platform in form of comments and posts. He warned that such comments must be authorized.

He said that the training was an ongoing process aimed at  sharpening their skills in the discharge of their duties at their respective commands and departments.

Welcoming the participants, the State Commander, Comrade Taiwo Ogunjimi urged them to take seriously the induction programme as “it will help them in discharging their duties as leaders, agent of change and disciplined officers.”

On his part, Superintendent Ganiyu Theophilus Adeyemi, Amuwo Odofin Local Government WAI Commander who spoke on WAI Brigade Role in Community policing, advised members to be vigilant in their surroundings because their duty entails information, education, investigation and more importantly passing intelligent  report to the appropriate quarters.

Highpoint of the event was the presentation of certificate and decoration of worthy officers and men. The event was will attended with over 200 officers and men including Assistant National Commander, South West, Senior Comrade Adeoye Gabriel; Deputy National Commander, Alhaji J. Yakubu;  Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lagos State, Mr. Waheed Ishola; State Commander, Comrade Taiwo Ogunjimi; WAI Commander, Amuwo Odofin Local Government Area, Sup. T. Adeyemi amongst others.
