The Director General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Dr. Garba Abari has stressed the importance of the Agency in tackling the socio-cultural and political challenges facing the country. Dr. Abari who was on a one-day working visit with the Honourable Minister of Information, Culture , Alhaji Lai Mohammed to Lagos State, took time off to visit the State Directorate of the Agency (NOA).

Briefing the staff on the significance of the Agency in evolving an appropriate value system in the country, the Director General described the Agency as a veritable tool in bringing about a desirable attitudinal changes in the country. He emphasized the need for capacity building through training of staff to achieve the aims and objectives of the Agency. While reiterating the role of information management in overcoming the nation’s challenges, the DG urged the staff to be good information managers, by putting our information in appropriate context and employing appropriate techniques in disseminating our information to meet the needs of the people towards bringing about the desirable value system.

Dr. Abari also enjoined the WAI Brigade to be disciplined so as to inculcate the right attitude in the people. He promised to make the Brigade much more functional. The Director (PRS) NOA, National Headquarters, Mr. Samuel Soughul who accompanied the Director General; NOA Lagos State Director, Mr. Waheed Ishola and other management members and staff were present at the interactive session.
