The Konrad Adenauer Foundation (KAS) a German Organization committed to promoting Democracy Worldwide, Rule of law and Prosperity for All on 2nd August 2018 bade farewell to its country representative and welcome a new representative Mr Vladimir Kreck. The event took place at Fraser Suites, Central Business District, Abuja. Present at the Occasion are His Excellency Dr. Bernhard Schlagheck the Ambassador of Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany, Dr. Gerhard Wahlers the Deputy Secretary General and Head of Department of European and International Cooperation KAS, Mrs. Hildegard Behrendt-Kigosi the KAS outgoing country representative and Mr. Vladimir Kreck the incoming KAS country representative. Honourable members of Nigeria House of Representatives, The Right Honorable Speakers and Clerks of Oyo, Cross-River, Plateau, Ogun, Enugu, Abia and Rivers States of Assembly were invited and in attendance. The Director – General of National Orientation Agency, Dr. Garba Abari was represented by Director special Duties Department. Mrs. Dolapo Dosunmu, State Director of Oyo NOA was specially invited. A number of other dignitaries and friends of KAS were in attendance. The Deputy Secretary General of KAS, Dr. Gerhard Wahlers in his Keynote address spoke extensively about the global economic downturn and security problems. He said Germany is working hard to create lasting perspectives for people in Western Africa by focusing its attention on Peace, Stability, good governance, rule of law, democracy and economic diversification. The outgoing country representative, Mrs. Behrendt-Kigosi, appreciated the KAS partners in Nigeria for their support and bid them to extend same to the incoming representative. Mrs. Ngozi Ekeoba, NOA Director of political, Civic Education and Ethics (PCEV) spoke on behalf of the NOA Director- General. She highlighted NOA missions and functions. She acknowledged activities of KAS and its partnership with the Agency. She assured that NOA would work well with the incoming country representative just like it did with the outgoing representative. The majority leader, Oyo State House of Assembly Hon. Representing the honorable speaker spoke glowingly of the Oyo State Director, Mrs. Dolapo Dosunmu. He said that the Director organized and held the Town Hall Meetings, powered by KAS, in Oyo State professionally to the applause of all the state house of assembly members.
