The need for Nigerians to get things right from the present democratic dispensation formed the highpoint of discussions at the 20th Annual Conference of the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers (CIS), held at the Banquet hall of Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos State, on October 27th, 2016.

The Lead Speaker, Olufela Durotoye, Chief Executive officer, Visible Impact set the tone by going down memory lane to show where we got it wrong as a nation and how to make amends.

The Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lagos State, Mr. Waheed Ishola who was also a discussant, noted that there is no gain saying the fact that over the years to date, Nigeria has experienced daunting political, socio economic challenges. This is typical and historical of any developing nation and even advanced nations too.

Mr. Ishola stressed, that to get it right again, we must all start afresh from the basics. The more reason the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has taken the teaching of our history as a nation and Civic education back to the schools. Even as the government in power has come up with the change mantra….”Change Begins with me”.

Other discussants are Mrs. Aishetu Dozie, Head, Investment Banking Rand Merchant Bank; Mr. Muyiwa Afolabi, Group Chief Executive Officer, Frontiers International Services Limited; Mr. Sonny Ayere, Chairman, Association of Issuing Houses of Nigeria and Alhaji Ariyo Olushekun, Past President of CIS as Chairman of session.
