The Ministerial delegation on citizen’s engagement continued its assignment yesterday with a visit to Jigawa state. Led by the Minister of Information and National orientation, Dr Mohammed Idris, the team comprised of the DG NOA, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu, presidential aides, Bayo Onanuga, Tunde Rahman, Tope Ajayi and other heads of agencies under the FMINO. The team met with the Jigawa state governor, Alhaji Umar Namadi and his cabinet and also with the Emir of Dutse, Hameen Nuhu Sanusi.

At both the government house and the palace, the central message was the commitment of the Tinubu led government to lift the burden of poverty, ensure food security and combat criminality. For the governor, all of his programmes are tailored to support the federal government’s renewed hope agenda especially on food security.

The team was also at Auyo, the project site of the 19 hectares Irrigation project which sustains the dry season farming of the Jamare-Hadejia River basin authority. The Auyo Irrigation project is a federal undertaking meant to boost local production of rice, wheat and other grains.
