The Director General of the National Orientation Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu today recieved a delegation from the National Association of Nigeria Students (NANS) on a courtesy visit to the Agency’s headquarters in Abuja.

The purpose of their visit according to the leader of the delegation, Ekundina Segun Elvis, Senate President of the parliament is to commend the DG for his performance and output so far and seek areas of partnership with the Agency.

According to him, it is very important for NANS to identify with the agency because of its important role in national development.

They also want the agency to partner with the students and from time to time organize campus town hall meetings with Nigerian students.

The DG in his response appreciated their visit, and said every citizen is important to the agency, and that is why the agency’s top management is present to welcome the NANS delegation. The DG agreed with the NANS delegation that the proposed campus town hall meetings would be a good platform for Orientation promising that the agency will work with the students leadership to make it happen.

He spoke about the National Lifestyle Charter, the “Mobilizer”(the agency’s app which is to be launched next week), Citizens Brigade and the ongoing work in the area of Civic Education.
