As the deadline set by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for Voter Registration approaches, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) has urged Nigerians, eighteen years and above, to take advantage of the remaining days to register and collect their Permanent Voters Cards (PVCs).

Director General of NOA, Dr. Garba Abari in a statement harped on the importance of the PVC as the only tool that empowers citizens to choose their leaders.

Abari outlined those eligible to register to vote to include young people that have attained the age of 18, Nigerians who recently returned to the country and those who for one reason or the other were unable to register in the past.

He justified the electoral umpire’s decision to briefly cease the continuous voter registration ahead of the 2019 general election, saying the body required a period of time to tidy up the register and prepare for the exercise early next year.

According to him, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) will recommence the voter registration after the 2019 general election
