Sequel to the on-going N-Power Federal Government employment programme for Lagos State, the National Orientation Agency (NOA) and implementing Agencies – Ministry of women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation/Ministry of Budget and Economic PlanningLagos State as well as the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) held a one day training workshop for facilitators of the verification exercise.

Declaring the workshop open, the Honourable Commissioner for Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation Lagos State. Hon. (Mrs.) Lola Akande, thanked the participants for accepting the call of the State Government to participate in the programme. She tasked them to be dedicated and show interest in the training exercise, as much is expected from them.

Handling the technical session, the Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lagos State, Mr. WaheedIshola noted that Lagos State having the largest number of participants in the N-Power programme, cannot afford to fail in the exercise.

Mr. Ishola cautioned the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members who will be carrying out the direct verification, to shun any form of influence or gratification and show commitment, zeal and patriotism while dispatching their duties. He urged them to be humble and treat the applicants as fellow brothers and sisters in need. He took time to explain in details all that is expected of the facilitators to carry out a successful exercise.

The workshop was attended by Staff of Ministry of Economic Planning and Budget; National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)Local Government Inspectors;National Orientation Agency (NOA) staff from the 20 Local Government Areas of the State; Staff of Lagos State Ministry of Women Affairs and Poverty Alleviation and NYSC Corps members from the 20 Local Government Areas of the State.
