The National Orientation Agency is partnering with the African Peace Foundation on building peace for progress and national development of our country.

The Director General of the Agency, Dr. Graba Abari made this known when the Foundation paid a visit to the NOA headquarters in Abuja.

Abari said that the visit was timely and in line with the mandate of the Agency, adding that the amplifying of negativity and things that divide us as a country must come to an end. He said emphasis should be placed on values that unite us as country and promote peace which is professed by the two main religions of Christianity and Islam. He noted that both religions preach peaceful co-existence, love, unity and good neighborliness which unite us more as Nigerians and should be imbibed by citizens for progress and national development.

The NOA Director General, said that as the 2023 General Elections draw nearer, citizens should bear in mind that there must be peace in a country first before election and selection of credible leaders can be a thing of reality.

In a remark, the President General, Africa Peace Foundation, Prof. Ola Makinwa said the Foundation was in the Agency to seek partnership on peace building and to consolidate on the efforts of the spirits of African leaders and heroes who laid down their lives for the unity, emancipation and peaceful co-existence of Africans in their own countries and Africa as a whole.

Makinwa, said that the African Peace Foundation is a humanitarian, non-governmental organization established by a group of peace loving African personalities across the continent who are committed to peace building and conflict resolution in Africa.

The African Peace Foundation envisions that Africa and the entire universe can be peaceful, devoid of rancor, violence, conflict or war; a world where love, care, freedom, good neighborliness, justice and good governance will be the benefit of every individual, irrespective of creed or religion.
