As the nation continues to experience a great increase in the number of people clamoring for formal and life long education, National Orientation Agency, Kwara State Directorate is set to partner the National Open University of Nigeria (NOUN) towards proper sensitization of the populace on the various academic opportunities distance learning school offers.

This was made known during a courtesy visit to the University by Mr. Olusegun Adeyemi, the Acting Director, NOA Kwara when he led members of his management team to NOUN Study centre, Ilorin to sensitize and educate members of the organization on programmes and activities of government and the Agency.

While receiving the NOA team, the Centre Coordinator, Dr. Mrs R. O Oloyede, expressed her appreciation for the timely visit and explained the structure, vision and programmes of Open University. She stated that the undergraduate and postgraduate programmes offered by the university are accessible, affordable and quality enough for the general public, especially the working class categories who may not have time to attend a conventional University.

The programmes, according to her are not limited to any age grade and even the older folks are taking and can take advantage of the flexible programmes to develop themselves.

In his own comments, the NOA Ag. Director, Mr Olusegun Adeyemi noted the richness and quality of the programmes the university parades and expressed the willingness of the Agency to assist NOUN disseminate its programmes and raise awareness of the public about the need to take advantage of the academic opportunities abounding in National Open University of Nigeria.

He further explained that NOA will continue to absorb students of the school on Industrial attachment and encourage its members to enroll in NOUN.
