The National Orientation Agency (NOA), in collaboration with the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) and Gender for Societal Change (GSC), organized a one-day flagship women empowerment and self-acquisition outreach for internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Abuja today. The event was aimed at promoting adherence to the National Core Values among the youths in Nigeria.

Speaking at the event, the Director General of NOA, Dr. Garba Abari, expressed delight in the efforts of NYSC members in the community outreach for IDPs. He emphasized the power of consistent effort in shaping the destiny of Nigeria, and explained that decisions taken, actions, and values, have the capacity to create ripples that can touch every corner of the nation. He also stressed the importance of embracing values such as integrity, discipline, dignity of labor, etc.

The welcome address by the NOA Director of Political, Civic, Ethics and Value (PCEV), ably represented by Deputy Director Mr. Egbugara Emeka, underscored the efforts and strides of NOA/NYSC CDS. So far, the NOA/NYSC CDS have been established in Abuja, Lagos, and Kogi, with plans for more to be established in other states.

The programme was attended by the Chairman Board of Trustee of GSC, Dr. Abraham Eju; wife of former Imo State Governor, Nneoma Rochas Okorocha; Skill acquisition Instructor, Bilkisu Mustapha Jega; and NOA/NYSC CDS members.
