The ondo state Director of NOA Mr Bode Famose featured on FRCN 102.5 Positive FM Akure as the guest of the week on Tuesday 14 June 2016 on enlightenment on the Continuous Voter Registration scheduled to come up between 22nd and 26th June 2016, in preparation for the November 28 Governorship election in the state.

Answering questions from the presenter Sola Ogunleye the head of news of the radio station on the state of preparedness of INEC for the exercise, Mr Famose assured radio listeners that INEC has improved on it’s implementation strategies. The Election Management body, among other preparations, has configured Direct Data Capture machines for the 203 Registration Areas in the 203 wards in the state and in additional 193 voting points located in the difficult terrains in the state.

Apart from this, INEC has trained 796 Assistant Registration officers comprised of NYSC members and INEC staff to operate the DDC machines.

The NOA Director however reminded the people of the provision of the Electoral Act 2010 as amended, on what constitutes electoral offences which are punishable by law. He mentioned it that dual or multiple registration for an instance attracts a fine of N1 million or 12months imprisonment or both.
