The National Orientation Agency (NOA) is calling on traditional rulers in Nigeria to deliberately promote the “Real Nigerian” values , which is contained in a new lifestyle charter to be unveiled by the Federal Government. This charter is the brainchild of the new Director General of the Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu.

At a recent meeting in the Palace of The Ewi of Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, Issa-Onilu emphasised the unparalleled role of the traditional rulers in evolving the Real Nigerian. He reiterated the essence of the value charter which will spell out the basic expectation from the country leadership vis a vis a corresponding sense of duty from the citizens.
Issa-Onilu called on the traditional institutions to take up the strategic role of guiding and communicating government policies, programmes and activities to the grassroots.

“The National Lifestyle Charter”, he said, will define the Nigerian character without loosing the core values of our tribal and regional nuances. The Charter will seek to entrench the Nigerian promise, and expectations beyond partisanship and different succeeding administrations in the country

The Representative of the Ewi of Ekiti, Chief E.B Ogunmodimu pledged the support of the community leaders to government initiatives.

The meeting was attended by twenty two chiefs, the state Director of the NOA in Ekiti state, Mr. Adeyemi Akinola and members of the Director General’s team.
