“The role of educating, sensitizing and mobilizing the people at the grass-root is so germane to local government development, that the National Orientation Agency (NOA) cannot be over-looked because of their wealth of experience”. The above statement was made by the Executive Chairman of Ojodu Local Council Development Area (LCDA) of Lagos State, Hon. (Engr.) Julius Olumuyiwa Oloro on Wednesday 4th April, 2018 when the management team of National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lagos State, paid a working visit to the Council to drive for active grass-root participation in the on-going Continuous Voter’s Registration Exercise.
The Chairman, Hon. Oloro, thanked the management team for finding time to visit the Council Area. He noted that National Orientation Agency and the Local Council Development Area had always been on the same page with objective reports as an independent Agency. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to support the Agency, towards carrying out its programmes and activities in the Local Council Area for the good of the people.
Earlier in his remarks, the Director, National Orientation Agency, Lagos State, Mr. Waheed Ishola, commended the management of the Local Council Development Area for their reception, achievements made so far as they celebrate their first 200 days in office and the conducive working environment. The Director stressed the Agency’s preparedness to assist the local Council in propagating its programs and activities in the grass-root area now that the government has mandated the National Orientation Agency to go into massive electoral sensitization campaign and ensuring that citizens are registered, take possession of their Permanent Voter’s Card and vote correctly in the forthcoming 2019 General Elections. On the request for a joint programme on “Good Governance” for the three arms of government, the Chairman responded positively on the partnership.
