National Orientation Agency (NOA) Bauchi State office partner Women Support Bauchi South Coalition Forum to promote self reliance by raising awareness on the various empowerment opportunity created by both the Federal and the Bauchi State Government to support Women & Youth in the State to be gainfully employed.
This statement was made by the State Director NOA Bauchi, Alhaji Nuru Yusuf Kobi who was the guest speaker at a public lecture organized by the forum held at the Multipurpose indoor sports Hall Bauchi.
Alhaji Nuru Kobi reiterated the importance of registration with a cooperative society to enable them benefit from the Government Enterprise and Empowerment programme (GEEP) or (Market Moni), so that they can owned their own business, generate wealth and give the Youth employment. We expect more Women to apply for the loan, because Bauchi State Government no doubt have created many skills acquisition centres to train Women & Youth on various skills job.
The State Director therefore, called on the Women fuck to actively participate in the electoral process through the continued voter registration exercise, obtain their PVCs and be active player in politics by contesting election, as for the Youth they should register and obtain their PVCs to be eligible to vote and be voted for, they should say no political thuggery and remember that their PVCs are their power because they can use it to vote in a person of their choice and also to remove any representative that fails his or her duties, in a representative democracy the people are the Boss but they must have their PVCs first.
He called on them to guard their PVCs, not transferable and must not be sold or given to another person as that will mean selling or given away one’s voting right. Warned them on drugs and other substance abused.
Earlier, the Chairlady of the Forum Hajiya Hadiza Abdullahi said they initiated the coalition to educate and raise the awareness of Women & Youth on a fundamental issue, the need for them to come together and help themselves rather than waiting for government or any politician to come to their aid.
Hajiya Hadiza said they contributed money within themselves to assist the weaker one among them, it’s the desire of the forum to train orphans and the vulnerable among them on skills acquisition and empower them to become self reliance.
The Chairlady reiterated their determination on value reorientation with emphasis on the need for Women and Youth to conduct themselves in an orderly manner or in a regular sequence by observing law and order, be discipline and law abiding citizens.
