As part of National Orientation Agency’s activities leading to the #FallInLoveWIthNigeria grand finale which is celebrated annually on February 14th. NOA in partnership with TikTok and Data Scientists Networks organized a sensitization programme for the Nigerian children on online safety through the NOA integrity clubs established in all secondary schools across the country.

The programme was carried out in New Girls’ Science and Technical Secondary School, Kano, Ikeja State Senior High School Ikeja, and Government Junior Secondary School, Gosa, Abuja.In his opening remarks, Director-General NOA, Dr Garba Abari stated that promotion of peace within the country is a task for every individual, old or young. The DG NOA urged everyone to take action towards ensuring peace and national cohesion in the country. Dr. Abari noted that social media is mostly used by the youths.

NOA’s partnership with TikTok/DSN aims to address the misuse of social media, such as hate speech, misinformation, disinformation, cyber bullying, etc.

The students/teachers were urged to see TikTok as an avenue to learn and gain knowledge in the areas of maths, english, biology, et.c rather than just dancing and creating comedic videos.
