Director-General of the National Orientation Agency, Dr. Garba Abari hailed efforts by the Agency and Peace Building Development Consult (PBDC) towards promoting peace resolution of conflicts and adoption of preventive diplomacy as a tool to avert crises in Nigeria.
This was disclosed during the training organized by PBDC in collaboration with the NOA titled: Leadership Course in Preventive Diplomacy and Conflict Resolution (LCDPDCR).Dr. Abari presented plaques of excellence to Comptroller General of Immigration, Mohammed Babandede and Maj. Gen. BM Shafa who were also speakers at the training.
The event also witnessed presentation of Nigerian Flags to the duo as symbol of patriotism. The training that ran for 4 days had, at different times, dignitaries from diverse fields of human endeavors. They were Hon. Minister of Interior, Ogbeni Rauf Aregbesola, Former DG NOA, Dr. Mike Omeri and host of others.
The Agency is conscious of conflicts inherent in ethno-religious divide and is working with relevant organizations to advance other models such as preventive diplomacy to resolve conflicts in Nigeria.
