Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA), Dr. Garba Abari joined by Directors-General of Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Mal. Yakubu Ibn Mohammed and Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN), Dr. Mansur Liman to sign a Memorandum of Understand with Chairman FIRS, Muhammad Nami. The MoU seeks to embark on national sensitization campaign on tax payment by individuals and corporate entities.
Nigerian government has over the years been expanding tax net to improve revenue drive in view of dwindling revenue portfolio in the face of competing demands from different sectors of the economy.
This campaign is intended to educate taxpayers reasons to pay tax, how to pay and where to pay tax as at when due in fulfilment of their obligation.
NOA has a structure spread across Nigeria with presence in all 774 Local Government Areas and the Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT). Leveraging this unbeatable presence will ultimately benefit the FIRS tax expansion drive.
