The national orientation agency (NOA) Borno state directorate wishes to extend season’s greetings to all Borno citizens and prayed for a very prosperous and peaceful 2017 across the state and the nation at large.

The Directorate is highly appreciative of the tremendous and significant successes recorded by our gallant military and other security operatives over the perennial menace of Boko Haram insurgents in the state.  The NOA is therefore more than ever before duty bound to support and assist the security forces in their operations, through prompt, accurate and relevant information about these unpatriotic elements.

In view of these, the Directorate strongly support the recent measure taken by the state government to save lives and to stem the rising tide of crimes and other social vices in the state.  Accordingly, we have instructed our WAI Brigade Volunteers and other operational staff to assist the police and other security personnel towards the success of these policies at motor parks, major streets, markets, etc.

Furthermore, the NOA Borno state Directorate wish to align and support the position of the state government on the activities and operations of some contemptuous non-governmental organization (NGOs) in Borno state.  No doubt, the state is in dear need of assistance from all and sundry.  However, it would not augur will to allow Hundreds of NGOs claiming to have spent Billions of dollars without any corresponding improvement on the humanitarian conditions of the people they claim to have assisted.  We should therefore no longer allow anyone to take undue advantage of our misfortune.

Consequently, NOA has directed all its officers in the affected LGAs to further monitor the activities of both local and international NGOs and report same for the purpose of assessing the impact of their monthly expenditure on the IDPs.

The agency appeals to all our traditional and religious institutions as well as the entire people of the state to never relent in their prayers for the successes of our security operatives and lasting peace and tranquillity in our dear state.

Long live Borno state and long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
