Director-General of the National Orientation Agency (NOA) Dr. Garba Abari received the President, Federation of West African Freelance Journalists Association, Mr. Abayomi Runsewe with his team. The organization’s main focus is campaign against rape & sexual abuse.

Dr. Abari said NOA has identified rape as one of the greatest social vices bedeviling our society. It has become so worse that infants, minors, young girls are vulnerable almost on daily basis. It calls for concerted efforts and we must do that now.

“I salute your efforts having identified a scourge like rape as a project to campaign against. Newspapers are awash with cases of rape on frequent basis. This has to stop, we must work with an organization like yours to face this problem frontally.” – Abari

Speaking earlier, Runsewe bemoaned that rape has become a cancer that needs joint effort to defeat. It is disheartening when a man in his sixties or seventies defile young girls/babies in some unfortunate cases. We are choosing NOA for its ability to effect change of attitude to fight rape and sexual abuse.
