NOA organised sensitization programme tagged “Security Consciouness & Re-orientation Programme Against Political Thuggery, Kidnapping & Drug Addiction” in Ekiti State.
This is a campaign targeted at social vices of thuggery, kidnapping and drug addiction prevalent in our society. NOA is deeply worried about the ugly development hence the need for a national programme like this. Editions have been held in some states.
At the event were political parties, security agencies, psychologists/sociologists, traditional rulers & other stakeholders to proffer solutions to thuggery, kidnapping & drug addiction in Ekiti State.
Ekiti State is also going to witness lots of political activities ahead of governorship election coming up later this year that will herald successor of incumbent Gov Ayo Fayose. NOA will continue to evolve initiative like this to ensure peace on our lands.
This Security Consciousness and Re-orientation Programme also engaged herders/farmers in Ekiti State with a view to averting crisis and clashes. Rep of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders is also invited together with farmers association in Ekiti State.
Rep of DG NOA, Director, Documentation, Translation & Documentation (DTP), Davidson Aminu said in a speech that security consciouness programme is part of the Agency’s continuous engagement of critical stakeholders in support of Federal Government”s efforts in creating security awareness and fighting scourge of social vices in our society.
The Ewi of Ado Ekiti, HRM Oba Rufus Aladesanmi while delivering a goodwill message commended the Agency for being proactive while urging the Agency not to punctuate momentum of peace building efforts and ridding our society of social vices.
Other stakeholders at the event were Hunters, Vigilante group, Cultural groups (Hausa, Ibo, Evita etc) and market women association.
