For a robust, discipline and more focused WAI Brigade, the Lagos State Command held the 4th annual State Camp with the theme: “Role in Civil Intelligence Gathering and Community Policing” at Lagos African Grammar School.

Declaring the Camp Open, the Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA), Lagos State, Mr. Waheed Ishola said he was happy with the level of commitment shown by the over 500 members of the brigade, because of the voluntary nature of the scheme. He admonished them to continue in their good works of hardwork, discipline, respect to life, patriotism and commitment to the Nation state and resist being used for selfish reasons.

Speaking on intelligence and community policing, the Director urged the WAI Brigade to partner with other government organizations, agencies, community leaders, NGOs, private businesses and the media for effective community policing. He added that role of law enforcement has to change from a static, incident-driven bureaucracy to a more dynamic, quality-oriented partnership with community.

The Director promised to give necessary assistance and to reach-out to well meaning people in the society to support the activities of WAI Brigade.

Speaking at the occasion, the Sole Administrator, Itire-Ikate LCDA, Honourable Sameeeat Olawumi Raji urged members of WAI Brigade to key into the change mantra and bring the discipline and core-value they are known for to bear.

The event was well attended by members of market men/women Association, members of the Police, Community leaders, Patrons and Matrons of the Command.
