Sex Trafficking as well as its implications for Nigerian Women and girl child forms the high-point of discussion between National Orientation Agency (NOA) and Women Consortium of Nigeria (WOCON), a Non-Governmental Organisation established to promote the implementation of Women, youth and Children’s rights within the communities, during a courtesy visit to State Corporate Headquarters of NOA in Ikeja, Lagos, on Monday the 22nd of October, 2018.
Speaking at the event, the WOCON Director of Programmes, Mrs. Morenike Omaiboje noted that the visit was primarily to brief, discuss and seek for collaboration on the activities of the organisation’s forth-coming project, tagged “Campaign Against Sex Trafficking (C-A-S-T 2018)”. She acknowledged NOA’s reach and achievement in grass-root sensitization and mobilization, a veritable platform to carry out their project.
In his response, the Director, National Orientation Agency (NOA) Lagos Directorate, Mr. Waheed Ishola thanked the team for their visit. He urged them to continue with the good work of awareness creation on sex trafficking. He promised to partner and work with the group outside funding, by making available the Agency’s platforms for their activities. He equally urged them to write formally, detailing areas of collaboration.
Highlight of the visit was the exchange of information and educational materials of the both sides.
