In pursuit of national security objectives, the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) organizes a 5-day National Security Course on Psychological Operations and Strategic Communication I (NSPCOPC-I), with the theme ‘Winning Hearts and Minds of Nigerians for National Cohesion/Development.’

The primary goal of the course was to enhance the understanding of senior government officials and security stakeholders in the intricacies of non-kinetic approaches and applications.

The Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mallam Idris Mohammed, was represented by the Director General of the National Orientation Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu. The DG provided a comprehensive blueprint on the ministry’s non-kinetic approach to national security.

The DG who was also a special guest during the course delivered a second thought-provoking paper on the fourth day titled “Cross-Culture Communication as a Tool for National Integration.” Engaging participants from diverse backgrounds, including state government officials, armed forces, para-military/intelligence agencies, media organizations, religious bodies, and traditional institutions, he analyzed social issues and outlined strategies for combating them.
