A team from the Safe School Initiative secretariat was at the NOA Headquarters to meet with the Director General of the Agency, Mallam Lanre Issa-Onilu.
The team led by the National Cordinator of the Initiative, Halima Iliya comprised of representatives of the Nigerian Police, the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps, and Ministry of Education is seeking collaboration with the Agency on how to make the school space safe for our children.
Mallam Issa-Onilu happy that the policy on safe schools still persists, he said the new onslaught against schools calls for increase action on what the government seeks to achieve with the police. He said more public enlightenment will play a role in citizens preparedness in tackling the menace of attacks on children within the school environment.
