Many years after graduation from the department of Mass Communication, University of Lagos, Mallam Lanre Issa Onilu, Director General, National Orientation Agency (NOA) returned to the department to participate in a programme meant to mentor the students of the department especially on the evolving dynamics of the study of communication. His presentation captioned ‘New Media and National Orientation’ at the 1st UMCAA WORLD COMMUNICATIONS FESTIVAL touched on how the Agency is employing the new media to realize its mandate of reaching out to the citizens on government policies, programmes and activities.

The programme organized by the Unilag Mass Communication Alumni Association (UMCAA) in collaboration with the student body @ the Biodun Shobanjo Multi Media Centre for Excellence witnessed a large turnout of students, many of whom asked questions about the work of NOA.

The festival is a three day programme where former students of the department come to share experiences with students of the department on the realities of modern Mass communication practices.
